Veganuary

Have you decided to launch yourself this January and try Veganuary?

Let's see together what it is.

What is Veganuary?

Veganuary is an annual appointment, which consists of following a vegan diet for an entire month.

It aims to bring more and more people closer to plant-based nutrition, devoid of animal proteins.

It promotes and educates about veganism by encouraging people to follow a vegan lifestyle for the month of January.

The beginning of the new year has always been the moment in which new projects are made, the list of good intentions is drawn up and changes are foreseen, for this reason, this initiative is held at the beginning of each year throughout the month of January.

When and where was it born?

It was born in 2014 in England as a challenge not to eat foods of animal origin for the entire month of January.

This movement is so popular that today it is practiced in 152 countries; in 2019 it had over 250 thousand supporters and in January 2021 it obtained over 600 thousand memberships thanks to the support and collaborations of animal and environmental protection associations and some multinational giants and celebrities, who have decided to support the cause.

What is Veganuary all about?

It is an entire month, January in fact, in which a vegan diet is mainly followed, excluding all foods of animal origin, not only meat, but also eggs and dairy products, leaving more room for cereals, vegetables, fruit and legumes.

This momentary renunciation allows us to discover other foods such as cereals, legumes, fruit and vegetables, which, presented with delicious recipes from all over the world, thus allowing us to try and enjoy new vegan dishes.

Those who decide to take on this challenge, before embarking on this new culinary adventure, must know that the vegan diet lacks some very important nutrients for the human body such as vitamin D and B vitamins and mineral salts such as calcium, iron and zinc, which must be replaced with special supplements. For this reason, if you like the idea of trying to eat vegan, contact your doctor or nutritionist to evaluate his opinion and listen to his advice!

Here at Lavolio we have also launched some products suitable for vegans, without renouncing the pleasure of Italian desserts.
